The Egyptian Electric Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency announced in a statement on Monday that 1 percent of the electricity used by Egypt on Saturday was generated by wind and solar energy.
About 64.8 percent of the fuel used to generate electricity in power stations was natural gas, followed by heating oil (mazut), at 25.7 percent, the statement added.
