Cairo police defused 12 bombs at Ain Shams University on Tuesday after receiving a tip from campus security about a number of suspicious objects.
Bomb squads, led by Director of Cairo Detectives Department Major General Mohamed Qassem, headed to the scene to inspect the objects, which turned out to be homemade explosives.
Qassem said the explosives were planted between the Faculty of Law and Faculty of Computer Science inside Ain Shams University.
Police are currently investigating the incident and searching for suspects.
