Military Spokesperson Mohamed Samir has reviewed the recent security forces' efforts against terrorism in Sinai.
“As part of security forces' efforts to gain control over areas of terrorism in northern and central Sinai, troops have destroyed shelters of extremists and killed 14 terrorists during raids launched at several villages at Rafah, Sheikh Zuwaid in North Sinai,” Samir posted on Facebook.
A shootout occurred between troops and terrorists, who took shelter at buildings and agricultural areas.
Ten bombs, five vehicles and one motorbike used by extremists were destroyed, in addition to stores that were containing ammunition, telecommunication devices and military uniforms.
Troops resumed efforts to prevent terrorists from sneaking into these areas once again.
