A charter direct flight from Gatwick Airport in London arrived in Luxor International Airport on Wednesday evening carrying 175 British tourists to attend the New Year's celebrations.
Hisham al-Husseiny, director of the Luxor Airport, said the flight belonged to Thomson Airways, adding that he expects an increase in the number of direct charter flights from German and British cities.
Two hundred Lebanese tourists also arrived at Luxor International Airport on two flights chartered from Beirut International Airport.
The two flights arrived directly from the Beirut airport on Wednesday evening, carrying Lebanese tourists who plan to visit Luxor archeological sites, said director of public relations and media at Luxor Airport Khairy Hassan Bakhit.
