Mostafa Othman, 22, hopes to bring about a revolution in Egypt. Not in our streets or squares but in our laboratories.
Othman holds a PhD in Nanotechnology, one of the most difficult sciences, but perhaps with the most abilities to find solutions for the problems of the future.
His hope for change in Egypt, relies on nuturing a new and important study at home. “I have always dreamt of studying new science that is not there in Egypt. I decided to go to England to study the nanotechnology,” he says.
“I dream of change toward the better for my country. This made me determined and challenged to contribute to scientific change that could benefit Egypt in the future. I chose the nanotechnology to put Egypt on the map of future technology and computer sciences,” he adds.
He decided to start from where others stopped at. Through nanotechnology, he works on enhancing capabilities of computers in a way that exceeds abilities of the current programs.
Othman’s thesis targets offering solutions in many important service fields like health and education.
He finished the International Baccalaureate from Cairo before turning 16 years old. He was specialized in nanotechnology and electronics sciences. With the help of Al-Alfi development institution, he was able to receive support to travel to England to study the nanotechnology.
Regarding the PhD accomplished, he says, “At the age of 20, I started preparing for the PhD at the same university I studied electronic engineering and nanotechnology and got my masters from. Then I looked for an institution that would support me. I found about Al-Alfy institutions that afforded the studying costs.”
Othman did not wait until his PhD degree is certified from the university in England. He started cooperation with Google to develop services using nanotechnology.
