Three Muslim Brotherhood supporters were killed and two others injured when they exchanged fire with police during an anti-constitution protest at al-Zahraa area in Sohag governorate.
Two policemen were also injured during the skirmishes with the Brotherhood who were calling for a boycott of the referendum in the Zahraa area.
Sohag Security Chief Major General Ibrahim Saber was notified that the three persons killed and the two injured were all alleged members of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Troops dispersed the protest and arrested several participants.
The dead and the injured were transferred to hospitals. Police reports were filed and prosecution began investigations into the incident.
