Three persons were killed and another six injured on Tuesday in a collision between a microbus and a pick-up truck on Dahshour road leading to the industrial zone in 6 October City, eye witnesses told Al-Masry Al-Youm.
The collision caused a traffic jam before winches lifted the wreckage from the accident. The deceased and injured persons were transported to the hospital.
Egypt has a chronic issue with road accidents, with no solution having been found.
A report published by the World Health Organization (WHO) puts Egypt in the top 10 countries globally for the number of fatal road accidents.
The report revealed that 25,500 people were killed or injured as a result of car accidents in Egypt in the past year, with financial losses amounting to about LE30 billion.
