Thirty five people have been rescued, including 26 tourists of different nationalities, after their tourist boat sank during a cruise to a diving area, navigational sources in the Red Sea said.
Workers on another tourist boat in the Red Sea were able to save 35 people, including 26 tourists from different nationalities.
The rescue happened after their tourist boat sank in the northern Red Sea, during a cruise to one of the local diving areas, sources told Al-Masry Al-Youm.
The tourists were transferred to a nearby marina.
The sunken boat had three floors, and was returning from a diving trip in the famous Abu Nauhas area in the northern Red Sea.
Authorities acted quickly and with efficiency and the reasons for the sinking are being investigated.
