East Cairo Prosecution referred 36 Muslim Brotherhood members to the misdemeanor court over clashes that occurred on the third anniversary of the 25 January uprising in Nasr City, Cairo.
The defendants are accused of rioting, assembling, protesting without a permit, resisting authorities, possessing Molotov cocktails and arms, joining an armed group that threatens public security, cutting access to the road and assaulting policemen and public facilities.
Clashes occured between pro-Muslim Brotherhood protesters on one hand and Brotherhood opponents and security forces on the other on the third anniversary of the 25 January revolution. The defendants were arrested at the clashes.
