Beni Suef prosecutions referred 72 suspects affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood to criminal court.
The suspects include Abdel Azeem al-Sharqawy, member of the group’s guidance bureau and the member Abdel Khaleq al-Sherif.
The suspects are accused of breaking into Nasser police station on 14 August using arms in the aftermath of dispersing Rabaa al-Adaweya and Nahda sit-ins, trying to kill two policemen, attempting to set the police station on fire and joining a banned group.
