President Mohamed Morsy will meet with senior Iranian officials during his participation in the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Tehran at the end of the month, Iran foreign ministry spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast said Sunday.
On the sidelines of a meeting by senior experts from the movement, Mehmanparast said the duration of Morsy's visit had not been specified but noted that he would meet with senior Iranian officials, according to Iranian news agency Fars News.
Mehmanparast said reinforcing ties with Egypt would be the one of the important issues to be tackled in the meetings.
An informed source at Iran's diplomatic representation office in Cairo, speaking to Iranian news agency Mehr, had previously dismissed reports saying Morsy's visit would only last for four hours, noting that Morsy is scheduled to visit Iran's Bushehr nuclear station.
The Non-Aligned Movement is a group of countries that say they are not aligned with a major bloc of power.
