President declares three days of mourning for the victims of Mansoura

The president’s office has declared a state of mourning for three days for the victims killed in the bombing of the Dakahlia Security Directorate.

The office said in a statement that the blood and souls of the martyrs will not go in vain, and that all of those who planned, financed, incited or carried out that act will be severely punished, as the security of the nation is a line not to cross without deterrent punishment.

The statement also said that Egypt defeated terrorism in the nineties of the last century and will defeat it again from its roots and fight those who support it relentlessly and without pity or mercy, for they have abandoned their homeland and their religion.

It went on to say that everyone should know that this country has a shield that protects its sovereignty and security.

It continued to say that the homeland is a responsibility that we will take willingly and within the rule of law to preserve the lives of its sons.

Our war against terrorism has become a priority, and the protection of people’s lives is our first responsibility, the statement said. The competent state institutions took actions for the security of the homeland and the citizens, and the presidency will not hesitate to take extraordinary measures to defend them.

The presidency also said that it will take the necessary decisions about the external forces that continue interfering in the internal affairs of Egypt, for national security is above all considerations, and the lives of the people of this country cannot be compromised for any relationships, ties or interests.

“Great people of Egypt, this critical and sensitive moment in our nation’s history needs in the first place the cohesion of all people toward one goal to refute terrorism and complete the map of the future according to its announced timetable,” the statement said. “The march of this nation will never stall, and we will never sift our commitment towards it.”

The statement ended by extending deepest condolences to the families of the victims.
