Foreign Ministry urged Egyptians expatriates on Monday to reach out to the diplomatic missions, and express their opinion in the referendum on the new draft constitution, scheduled to take place abroad from 8 to 12 January.
The ministry said in a statement issued on Monday morning that participation in the referendum is an important step forward in terms of democratization, and the completion of the roadmap agreed on by political powers upon the overthrow of deposed president Mohamed Morsy.
To prepare for the expatriate voting, the ministry held a series of coordination meetings, with the Higher Elections Commission and the Administrative Development Ministry, to agree on the procedures and the final arrangements, according to the ministry's spokesperson Badr Abdel Atty.
