Orascom Telecom Algeria has appointed Philip Thome, head of VimpelCom’s technology sector, as CEO.
Vincenzo Nesci will remain the chairman of the company.
Tohme was head of Global Telecom’s technology sector in 2010, head of the technology sector of Wind Italy in 2006, chief operating officer of Orascom Telecom Algeria in 2003 and technical director of Mobinil in Egypt.
The company was previously managed from Cairo.
