Port Said Prosecution referred on Tuesday 191 members of the Muslim Brotherhood to Criminal Court for trying to break into al-Arab police station in August 2013, following dispersal of Rabaa al-Adaweya sit-in, charged of using arms, molotovs, premeditated murder and assaulting civil servants.
Nine suspects are accused of committing the crimes, while 182 members are charged with incited the actions.
Among the prominent suspects are Mohamed Badei, the supreme guide of the group, Mohamed al-Beltagy, Safwat Hegazy, group leaders. They also include Akram al-Sha’er, Ali Dorra, former MPs, Ahmed al-Khawlany, Gamal Heiba, former Shura Council members, and Sameer Hammoud, secretary of Freedom and Justice Party in Port Fouad City.
Prosecution attached to the indictment videos of the incidents of breaking into the police station, forensic medicine reports, statements of the group and investigations by the national security agency.
Ismailia Appeal Court, followed by Port Said Criminal Court, will set the date for trial.
