Explosives experts from the Port Said security department defused on Sunday a primitive grenade that was planted at the main entrance of the Port Said Court of First Instance, next to the computer and information center and below the office of the court’s president.
Workers at the court found the explosive in a black bag next to the information center on Sunday while opening the main gate. They informed the court security, after which explosives experts and civil protection forces arrived and were able to defuse the bomb.
Security forces then combed the offices inside the court to check for any other suspicious items. National security agency and criminal investigations teams are questioning security personnel who had been working at the court the night before the explosive was discovered.
