A 10-year-old child succumbed to death as an IED exploded in an apartment in Nasr City on Saturday evening, injuring three people including owner of the apartment.
Investigations showed affiliation of the apartment owner to the Muslim Brotherhood. Explosive substance was found inside while inspecting.
The Nasr City police department was notified about a blast in an apartment in the tenth district in Nasr City. A security cordon was imposed around the building.
Initial investigations show the 10-year-old child Amr suffered injuries to the head, including a brain hemorrhage. Prosecution ordered an autopsy on the child's body to confirm the reason of the death.
Amr's sister Hagar, 18, suffered injures across her body while his other sister Dina, 15, was injured in her right leg. Ramy, 38, the owner of the apartment, was injured across the body.
The injured were transferred to Nasr City hospital. Explosives experts began tests to discover the bombs components.
The injured said they were visiting the apartment owner and fiance of the first injured person. The blast erupted as their 10-year-old brother was playing with a tin that he found outside and brought it to inside the apartment.
Investigations showed that while inspecting the apartment, detectives found the Rabaa al-Adaweya signs, photos for the toppled President Mohamed Morsy and 250 grams of TNT substance.
