The state-run Middle East News Agency (MENA) said on Friday that Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb’s new cabinet includes 31 ministers other than the defense minister.
The agency explained that there are 36 ministries in total, which means that four ministers are each running two merged ministries.
Adel Labib is running the ministries of local and administrative development, Khaled Abdel Aziz is running the ministries of youth and sports, Mounir Fakhri Abdel Nour is running the ministries of trade, industry and investment, and Ashraf al-Araby is running the ministries of planning and international cooperation.
So far, Mehleb has assigned 25 ministers, including 17 from the previous government, with still five more to come for the ministries of health, irrigation, justice, culture and higher education.
As to the defense minister, he said this would be determined in coordination with the president.
