Alexandria security services, in collaboration with national security sector, arrested what authorities say was a terrorist cell targeting police establishments and vehicles as well as public and private properties.
The suspects were allegedly in possession of weapons.
Investigators say that three suspects formed the terrorist cell and other groups that carry out terrorist actions supported financially by the Muslim Brotherhood. They also targeted police establishments, vehicles as well as stores and properties of citizens who oppose the Brotherhood.
Authorities claim the suspects confessed under interrogation to targeting citizens who support the roadmap. They also admitted to taking part in several incidents like setting a police vehicle on fire and exploding bomb in front of the Al-Raml police station.
Legal measures were taken. Prosecution was notified to conduct investigations.
