Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Hossam Eddin Maghazy launched a national campaign to remove contaminants from the Nile so as to provide clean water to citizens.
The campaign is in coordination with the Ministries of Supply and Environment.
“Sewage has contaminated the river in some villages,” the minister said, adding that he will activate the Supreme Council for the Protection of the Nile River that was formed by the Prime Minister.
“We were assigned by the president to follow-up the work on a daily basis,” he said.
