Three unknown people have been killed as the truck they were on board exploded in a village in Giza, said Brigadier General Mahmoud Shawqy, of al-Saff police station.
The loud, fatal explosion was produced by bombs the victims were allegedly transporting, Shawqy told Al-Masry Al-Youm.
Preliminary investigations, authorities say, indicate the suspects intended to carry out a terrorist operation against police.
Efforts are being made by police to investigate circumstances surrounding the accident.
