Pro-SIsi media host says praised by president in phone call

TV host Ibrahim Eissa said he received an 18-minute phone call from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi thanking him for tackling the brochure of terms and conditions of the medium-level housing project.

“President Sisi told me he welcomes all viewpoints, proposals and criticism, so long as they are presented in a logic and objective way seeking the interests of the country,” Eissa said in his show ‘25-30’ aired on the privately-owned ONTV satellite channel on Tuesday. “This means that President Sisi is well following on what is presented in media, which forces us to be accurate of what we present as being followed by the president shoulders us with a big responsibility.

“We now live in a society that accepts all opinions. The evidence on that is instructions to [privately-owned] Shorouk newspaper, which is accused of allowing Muslim Brotherhood writers to write in it while sponsoring the housing project conditions brochure forum. The evidence too is honoring actor Khaled Abol Naga in the Cairo International Film festival, despite his naive political opinions. How could such things happen, if we do not live in a democratic society?” he said.
