The Cairo Criminal Court on Monday postponed the trial of activist Alaa Abdel Fattah and 24 others in the case known as the “Shura Council Events” to Thursday for security reasons.
The defendants are charged with assaulting police officer Emad Tahoun and stealing his walkie-talkie, holding unauthorized demonstrations in front of the Shura Council, inciting riots, blocking roads and destroying public property.
