Two policemen were injured as two gunmen on a motorbike opened fire early on Wednesday on security personnel in charge of securing the Congo Republic embassy located in the Mohandessin district of Giza, says the Interior Ministry.
Another security patrol immediately followed the gunmen and was able to arrest them. The suspects were in possession of a stolen gun.
The injured were transported to the hospital for treatment and legal measures have been taken.
Many police and military personnel have been killed or injured as a result of targeted attacks since the ouster of former President Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
