Statement: Armed forces contributed to development projects in past 2.5 years

The armed forces revealed its contribution to a wide range of development and housing projects during the past two and a half years, and the development of facilities and services, villages and poor regions, as well as contributing to the development of leisure and sports facilities.
 
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the armed forces, they created social housing projects in three governorates with a total 7,104 housing units, they implemented the first phase of 150,000 housing units in New Cairo, 6th of October City, Shorouk City, New Damietta, Obour, Badr, Sadat, and Tenth of Ramadan cities, as well as a housing project in Luxor with total 408 housing units.
 
The statemented added the armed froces developed 78 poor villages, and is under way to completing a project funded by the United Arab Emirates of 50,016 housing units in 17 governorates.
 
The armed forces are under way to establish the first city for people with disabilities, and established the first phase of the housing project of Dabaa residents in Matrouh with a total of 1,500 Bedouin houses.
 
They developed 47 slum areas in Cairo and Giza, and contributed to the establishment of 257 model schools in 18 governorates. The stablishment of 225 schools is ongoing; 98 of them in Upper Egypt, said the statement.
 
The armed forces took over the estabishment of Zewail scientific city.
 
The statement said that the Engineering Authority and the National Contracting Co., affiliatd with the armed forces implement 13 projects for the Antiquities Ministry, 20 projects for the Ministry of Local Development, and 18 projects for the Finance Ministry.
 
The armed forces will establish the new headquarters of the interior and tourism ministries in 6th of October City, the headquarters of Beni Suef and Alexandria governorates, and will develop the Community Development Association headquarters in Ras al-Tein at LE75,000. They will implement 15 projects for the General Authority for Roads and Bridges and will reform 18 religious facilities in six governorates.
 
They armed forces will establish the Al-Ferdaws Garden on Salah Salem Road to include parks, green spaces, cafeterias and a children's park on an area of ​​77 acres, according to the statement.
