Cairo University Council agreed during its meeting on Monday to renew its contract with Falcon, a private security company, which will secure the University during the next academic year.
The Council discussed the report of the committee charged with evaluating the performance of Falcon during the last academic year. The report recommended the renewal of the contract with Falcon under the same general conditions of the old contract, but without the intervention of the Ministry of Higher Education as a mediator.
Security agents from Falcon Group International were hired to secure the gates of the universities of Cairo, Ain Shams, Helwan and al-Azhar, based on a protocol signed by the company and the Ministry of Higher Education last year.
