Egypt's strategic wheat reserves will last until the end of January, the country's supplies minister said in a statement on Thursday.
Egypt's main state wheat buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), bought 180,000 tonnes of Russian and Ukrainian wheat on Wednesday for shipment Aug. 11-20.
The world's largest importer of wheat boosted its strategic reserves after a record purchase of local wheat in the 2015 season of slightly over 5 million tonnes.
