Khalid Sultan, head of the Solidarity Ministry’s Central Administration of NGOs, said that 45 NGOs received approvals to monitor the parliamentary elections after they have fulfilled the conditions set by the ministry.
He explained that the conditions stipulate that the founding purpose of the NGO is to monitor elections or support democracy and human rights, that it should exercise this activity without interruption and that it should make sure no administrative or financial irregularities are committed during the process.
As to foreign NGOs, he said these are to apply at the High Elections Committee.
