North Sinai’s security forces killed 30 militants and arrested 41 suspects on Wednesday, within the framework of “the martyr’s right” operation, said a military spokesman.
The Armed Forces, in cooperation with the police, launched “the martyr’s right” operation on Monday in the towns of Arish, Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid.
A total of 56 militants were killed on Monday and Tuesday during the security crackdown, according to previous statements by a military spokesman.
North Sinai militants have stepped up attacks targeting security forces since the ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013 after mass protests against his rule.
Sinai Province militant group claim responsibility for the majority of the attacks.
