A severe dust storm hit the Nag Hammadi area Monday evening, causing power outages in a few southern governorates, the Electricity and Renewable Energy Ministry said.
The weather, which collapsed three 220 kV high-voltage towers, caused power outages in Hurghada, Safaga and south of Qena, according to a statement by the Electricity Ministry on Tuesday. Partial electricity will be restored gradually, the statement added.
Different neighborhoods throughout Luxor and Qena will experience half-hour long power outages daily, over the next four days.
