Author Alaa al-Aswany congratulated the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet for winning the Nobel Peace Prize. He tweeted on Monday that Tunisia stepped into democracy, while Egypt is back to square one.
The quartet won the prize for its contribution in building a pluralistic and democratic state in Tunisia after the Jasmine Revolution of 2011. It was formed in 2013 amid social unrest and political assassinations on a large scale, which could have produced serious consequences in the country.
