Lebanese composer, singer and oud player Marcel Khalife has said he will be performing during the closing ceremony of the Festival and Conference of Arab Music with the Cairo Symphony Orchestra at the Opera House Monday evening.
Khalife and the Cairo Symphony Orchestra will present the Rababa Concerto, which Khalife said he has been preparing for a year.
The festival is different from other festivals because in addition to musical concerts, it holds seminars on studies and research done in the world of music, he mentioned.
Khalife praised late Egyptian poet Abdel Rahman al-Abnody, saying he used to be a very close friend of his. The musician said the field of music needs a revival.
