The services sector of the Justice Ministry witnessed significant expansion, restoration, and maintenance of court buildings, as well as construction of new ones in the period between 2014 and 2017, Justice Minister Mohamed Hossam Abdel Rahim said on Tuesday.
The construction of offices for experts, as well as for the ministry’s Forensic Medicine Authority, also saw an increase over the same period, he added, while highlighting that modern forensic medical equipment had been brought in.
Since 2014, the Illicit Gains Authority has recovered LE 5.66 billion from crimes of graft and corruption, according to the minister.
The Illicit Gains Authority had examined 1,592,122 financial disclosure documents, and has identified over 5,000 violators who have been referred to the public prosecution for graft allegations, said Rahim.
