Egyptian composer Hisham Kharma performed in the opening of the World Aquatics Championship, which was held in Hurghada, Soma Bay.
Egypt is hosting three water championships, including the Aqua Ballet World Cup, Beach Water Polo Qualifiers, and the Open Water Swimming World Cup, with the participation of nearly 600 competitors from all over the world.
Kharma composed and performed the official music for the competition, playing pieces he composed with a new arrangement – in addition to two new pieces for the first time.
Kharma’s music was characterized by a distinctive rhythm commensurate with the atmosphere of the event, with the use of new instruments to create a rhythm appropriate to the watery venue.
He also composed the soundtrack for the movie “Day 13” that was recently released in Egyptian theaters.
It is the first Arab feature film shown in 3D, and raked in well over LE22 million. The movie is written and directed by Wael Abdullah.
