The General Directorate of Giza Traffic on Sunday announced a group of new diversions due to the closure of the al-Wahat Desert Road until February 16.
The General Directorate of Giza Traffic appointed the necessary services to counter any expected densities and facilitate movement, coinciding with the project to develop and raise the road’s efficiency.
Work included developing the road from the opposite side of the “Total” filling station to the opposite side of the 6th of October drinking water station, in the direction coming from Wahat Road to the 6th of October.
Development therefore requires a total closure of the road to traffic in the aforementioned directions and locations.
Work will continue throughout 24 hours a day until Friday morning, February 16.
The General Directorate of Giza Traffic announced it will be diverting traffic on Wahat Road in the direction coming from Fayoum Road to a new road (supporting road to main road).
It will also create two ramps to enter the diversion path – the movement of vehicles on Wahat Road in the direction coming from Fayoum Road to the areas of al-Motamayez neighborhood takes the first (new) ramp leading to the service road to the entrance to the al-Motamayez neighborhood.
The movement of vehicles on the Wahat Road in the direction coming from Fayoum Road to the 6th of October areas takes the second (new) ramp leading to the alternative main road and continues with the detour path to return again to the main Wahat Road after bypassing the working area to reach the 6th of October.
