Egypt is closely following up the latest development in Gabon.
Egypt called on all parties to heed national interests in order to maintain security and stability of Gabon.
In a press release on Wednesday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid called on members of the Egyptian community in Gabon to be vigilant, avoid areas of security tension and keep in touch with the Egyptian embassy to ensure their safety.
Abu Zeid said Egypt is looking forward to restoring stability in Gabon as soon as possible and maintaining safety of the Gabonese people.
