Egypt to submit two memorandums against Israel to International Court of Justice

Egypt will submit two memorandums to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) condemning Israel’s brutal assault on Gaza, according to the Al-Qahera News TV channel reporting a senior Egyptian source on Sunday.

The source explained that Egypt will submit its plea before the ICJ on February 21, participating in the advisory opinion requested by the General Assembly from the court regarding Israeli practices in the Palestinian territories since 1967.

On January 26, the ICJ ordered Israel to “take all measures” to limit the death and destruction caused by its military campaign, prevent and punish incitement to genocide, and ensure access to humanitarian aid.

This was follows in response to South Africa previously accusing Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, which Israel has denied.

The number of victims of the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip has risen to about 29,000 dead and about 69,000 injured since the war broke out on October 7, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported.

The ministry said on Saturday that there victims still remain under the rubble and on the roads, yet the and the Israeli army is preventing ambulance and civil defense crews from reaching them.
