Saudi and Egyptian Armed Forces are set to conduct joint military exercises, known as “Sharp Arrow 2024,” from November 9th to 21st in Egypt, with the aim of developing joint work and achieving operational compatibility between the armed forces of both countries.
The official Saudi Press Agency quoted the head of the Saudi Armed Forces Training and Development Authority, Major General Adel bin Muhammad Al-Bluwi, as saying that ‘this participation comes within the training directive of the armed forces for the training period (1446-1447 AH), for joint and mixed exercises inside and outside the Kingdom, in order to develop training, qualify members of the armed forces and acquire training skills.’
He added that ‘the armed forces, represented by the land forces, naval forces, air forces, and air defense forces, are participating in the exercise with actual forces,’ noting that ‘the joint Saudi-Egyptian exercise Sharp Arrow 2024 aims to enhance military cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries, develop joint work and achieve operational compatibility between the Saudi and Egyptian armed forces.’
The Egyptian army forces carry out many military maneuvers with a number of countries on its territory on a continuous basis, including Russia, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and a number of European countries, with different names for each maneuver.
