Prices for new and replacement eSIM service officially announced

Telecom Egypt (WE) has announced that the price of a new eSIM is at LE330, while the cost of replacing a physical SIM card with an electronic one is LE270.

WE announced the launch of the eSIM service, confirming that customers can obtain the SIM card through all of its branches.

Those interested can contact the WE customer service at 111 for all information on how to obtain and use the SIM card.

 

What is an eSIM?

It is an electronic version of a physical SIM card, embedded in the device, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card.

This technology allows devices to connect to mobile networks using network profiles that can be managed remotely. It provides greater flexibility, convenience, and security.

 

How to activate the eSIM:

  • Check compatibility: Ensure your phone supports eSIM technology by checking your phone settings and looking for the eSIM option in the SIM Manager.
  • Contact customer service: If you’re unsure, call customer service at 111 to verify if your device supports eSIM.
  • Visit a WE branch: If your device is compatible, visit the nearest WE branch.
  • Purchase eSIM: Purchase the eSIM service and pay the required fees. You will receive a QR code for the service.
  • Connect to Wi-Fi: Ensure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi.
  • Scan QR code: Use the QR code to download the line profiles and network settings and store them on the eSIM in your phone.
  • Activate: Contact customer service at 111 to confirm your details, and your eSIM will be activated.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Individual Customers: eSIM is available for all new individual mobile contracts and for existing customers who wish to replace their physical SIM.
  • Corporate Customers: eSIM is only available for corporate mobile customers who wish to replace their physical SIM.
  • Activation: eSIM activation is done through a QR code obtained from the nearest branch.
  • Device Compatibility: The eSIM service is only available on devices that support eSIM technology.
  • Deletion: If you accidentally delete your eSIM profile, you’ll need to go to a WE store to get a new one.

Before replacing your eSIM, make sure you’ve removed the old profile. You can download your eSIM profile, but the QR code and download link are only valid for five days after you sign up or replace your SIM.
