Israel’s assaults kill one child every hour in Gaza: UNRWA

Israel continues to commit widespread acts of violence on a large scale on Tuesday within the occupied territories, where a child is killed every hour in Gaza according to UNRWA.

This is in addition to the continued siege of hospitals, while the government media office in Gaza said Israel steals aid and kills Gazan security personnel in order to starve civilians.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said, “Every hour a child is killed in Gaza, and they are not just numbers, but lives lost in a short time without any justification.”

It confirmed that 14,500 children were reported killed in Gaza, and called for an end to the bloodshed.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) reported that up to 15,600 Palestinians, including 1,500 children, must leave Gaza to receive treatment that is not available in the Strip – the average number of children leaving Gaza is 22 per month.

In the first official admission by an Israeli official, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz acknowledged Israel’s responsibility for the assassination of former Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Iran.

A member of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, Diaa Helmy, said that Israel’s direct admission of Haniyeh’s assassination makes a large difference, as it confirms what has already been suspected – however the official announcement carries multiple messages.

Helmy added that this announcement represents a blatant challenge to the international community, as it involves a country assassinating a person in another country, and it also serves as a threat and warning to Iran and its old friends.
