The world is awaiting the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), a significant turning point in the journey to explore the mysteries of ancient Egyptian civilization.
This colossal cultural edifice, located near the Giza Pyramids, houses a unique collection of artifacts and treasures that tell stories from Egypt’s history spanning across the ages.
With its stunning designs and state-of-the-art technologies, the GEM will serve as a beacon of science and knowledge for those visitors seeking a deeper understanding of the secrets of Egyptian civilization.
Egyptian Minister of Tourism, Sherif Fathy, confirmed that work is currently underway to ensure that the museum celebration is befitting of Egypt’s name and the achievements witnessed in the previous period.
The celebration, which is scheduled to kick off on July 3rd, coincides with several prominent events and visits by VIPs from all over the world for an extended period, on the sidelines of the museum’s opening.
The GEM is the largest in the world in terms of area, spanning 500,000 square meters – equivalent to 117 acres – double the size of the Louvre Museum, and two and a half times the size of the British Museum.
A Grand boost for tourism
The Egyptian private tourism sector plans to capitalize on the GEM’s opening ceremony for tourism marketing and promotion of Egypt on a larger and wider scale.
It aims to provide further tourism incentives and multiple marketing elements to attract tourists to different tourist cities, in addition to creating exciting entertainment activities for tourists to enjoy throughout the day.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly revealed that the highly anticipated opening of the GEM will span several days, with government directives aimed at delivering a globally acclaimed celebration that showcases Egypt’s tourism and progress.
There are preparations at the highest level, starting from airports, hotels, and roads, all the way to the celebration venue.
“It is very important that the country appears in its most beautiful image,” Madbouly said.
He also discussed the details of the proposed celebration agenda for the GEM, starting with the type of invitation that will be sent to royalty, presidents, and senior officials, and moving on to the other various proposed segments.
Madbouly also reviewed the required assignments from each ministry and governorate, and the necessary facilitations in the procedures for the arrival and departure of guests and other logistical matters.
All parties in Egypt are joining forces to provide full support for the success of this celebration, overcome any obstacles, and provide all facilitations to those responsible for the organization.
