Seven killed, 44 injured in bus crash at Egypt’s Eastern Desert Road

Seven people were killed and 44 others injured in the early hours of Friday morning after a horrific bus crash at the Eastern Desert Road in Giza Governorate.

The accident occurred when a “Super Jet” bus collided with two parked trucks at kilometer 70 after the Koraymat Toll Station, within the Atfih district of Giza Governorate.

The emergency operations room received a report on the accident, and security forces and civil defense forces immediately responded to the scene.

Several ambulances were dispatched to transport the victims.

Initial investigations revealed that the accident occurred when the bus collided with two trucks that had stopped on the side of the road due to a sudden breakdown.

The front of the bus was crushed and the accident resulted in a number of casualties, including fatalities and injuries.

Authorities are continuing their efforts to identify the victims and complete investigations to determine the full circumstances behind the accident.
