Audiences are eagerly awaiting satirical comedian Bassem Youssef’s appearance on ON TV, marking his return to Egyptian TV after over a decade.
Youssef will return through the program “Kalema Akhera,” (Last Word) presented by media personality Ahmed Salem.
The program will begin on Tuesday, October 7, with four consecutive episodes, where Youssef recounts his wild experiences in the US.
Youssef has appeared as a guest star throughout his media career, such as co-starring in the third season of the TV series “Al Kabeer Awy,” featuring Ahmed Mekky.
He has also starred in several American productions, including series such as “Ramy,” “Upload S3,” “Lioness,” “The Problem with Jon Stewart,” and “Tickling Giant.”
Arabs Got Talent
Youssef also appeared on the judging panel for the seventh season of Arabs Got Talent, alongside singer Najwa Karam, Saudi actor Nasser al-Qasabi, and Lebanese artist Ali Jaber. The show was filmed in Saudi Arabia and aired on MBC.
Dr. Bassem Youssef
The satirist who gained fame as “the first Arab political comedian” first began his career as a doctor, graduating from Cairo University’s Faculty of Medicine in 1998. He spent 13 years in the medical field, but in 2011, he decided to set up a camera in his apartment and launch his own show “B+” on YouTube.
He then transferred his experience to television, where “al-Bernameg” became one of the most influential programs in the region until it ended in 2014 and he relocated to the US.
