Israeli occupation authorities closed the Rafah and Kerem Shalom crossings on Friday, citing the weekend holiday.
An official source in North Sinai stated that the closure of the Rafah crossing has resulted in a halt of Palestinian movement between Egypt and the Gaza Strip. The source noted that while the crossing is closed from the other side, the Egyptian side remains open and has not been shut down.
The source confirmed that 108 Palestinians traveled in both directions on Thursday. Of those, 65 Palestinians departed Egypt for the Gaza Strip after completing their medical treatment in Egyptian hospitals.
Meanwhile, 43 individuals arrived in Egypt from the Strip, including 19 wounded and ill patients accompanied by 24 companions. The patients were transferred to the UAE hospital ship, El Arish General Hospital in North Sinai, and El Obour Hospital in Cairo.
