The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that Iran has prohibited the passage of vessels owned by or affiliated with aggressor parties and those involved in any hostile acts against it, based on what it considers its rights under international law.
In a statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry clarified that “vessels not affiliated with any hostile parties can benefit from safe passage through the Strait, provided they coordinate with the relevant Iranian authorities.”
The ministry emphasized that navigation will continue to be managed in a manner that safeguards national security and interests.
Iran will respond to the use of any facilities or capabilities by neighboring countries against it – whether directly or indirectly – the statement warned, adding that such actions will be met with decisive measures.
