The Michael Jackson biopic, “Michael”, continues its powerhouse run at the global box office, closing in on the historic $1 billion milestone after crossing the $900 million mark. The film is already cemented as one of the most successful musical biopics in cinematic history.
According to the latest box office data, the film is just $11 million away from toppling the $911 million global record held by “Bohemian Rhapsody”. Shifting this close to the top spot puts “Michael” on the verge of becoming the highest-grossing musical biopic of all time.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film chronicles the King of Pop’s meteoric rise, charting his journey from fronting the Jackson 5 to his evolution into a global solo phenomenon behind massive hits like Thriller and Beat It.
Starring the legend’s real-life nephew, Jaafar Jackson, the biopic focuses entirely on Jackson’s creative milestones, showstopping performances, and enduring musical legacy, completely bypassing his highly publicized legal battles.
