EgyptAir on Monday launched its first flight to Venice, Italy, using its Airbus A320neo aircraft.
This marks the latest addition to the airline’s European network and the third new destination launched as part of its current expansion plan, following the introduction of routes to Los Angeles and Chicago in the US.
EgyptAir celebrated the occasion with the passengers on the inaugural flight at Terminal III of Cairo International Airport.
The passengers were welcomed with flowers and chocolates, and a Lucky Wheel event was held. Prizes included free tickets and discounts on EgyptAir flights.
The launch of the Cairo-Venice route is part of EgyptAir’s strategy to expand its international network by adding new destinations of tourist, cultural, and economic importance.
This aims to meet the needs of diverse traveler segments and enhance the national carrier’s competitiveness in global markets – all while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and service excellence.
A new step
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of EgyptAir Holding Company, Ahmed Adel, said that the launch of the Cairo-Venice route represents a new step within EgyptAir’s strategy to expand its network and strengthen its presence in European markets.
Venice is a new destination added to the company’s network in Italy, he noted, thereby providing more travel options for passengers and contributing to the growth of tourism and travel between Egypt and Italy.
Adel explained that EgyptAir continues to implement its expansion plan by opening new destinations and increasing frequencies on several routes experiencing growing demand.
With the addition of the Venice route, EgyptAir’s network of flights from Cairo to Italy has now risen to 33 weekly flights, including 17 flights to Milan, 14 to Rome, and two to Venice.
