“We shattered their hegemony” – Iranian Parliament Speaker claims defeat over US and Israel

The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, asserted that the Iranian people—through their steadfast resistance in the recent war— prevailed against the US and Israel and effectively shattered their hegemony.

Ghalibaf made these remarks during a meeting with his Bangladeshi counterpart, Hafizuddin Ahmed, who visited Tehran to attend the memorial services for Iran’s late Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

“The United States and Israel controlled our country before the Islamic Revolution, but the Iranian people drove them out,” Ghalibaf stated. “Our people have since suffered everything from assassinations to various forms of political, economic, and security pressures orchestrated by our enemies. Yet, none of these measures succeeded in steering the Iranian people away from the path of their revolution.”

From negotiations to asymmetric warfare

The Parliament Speaker stressed that Iran has never been the aggressor in any conflict.

“Even recently, we were in the midst of negotiations, but Washington and Tel Aviv, by launching their attack on Iran, effectively bombed the negotiating table,” Ghalibaf said.

“Nevertheless, the Iranian Armed Forces, through their clever management of the battlefield and utilization of asymmetric warfare, taught the aggressors an unforgettable lesson.”

“We do not seek war, but we stand firmly against any aggression,” he stressed.

“Today, Islamic nations must unite in the face of American bullying and unilateralism. We are certain that the fruit of the blood of the martyred Leader of the Revolution and all other martyrs will be the liberation of Al-Quds [Jerusalem], and that the future belongs to the Axis of Resistance.”

Condolences from Bangladesh

The Speaker of the National Parliament of Bangladesh, Hafizuddin Ahmed, expressed his condolences over the death of Khamenei.

He added that the people of Bangladesh, whose Muslim population numbers nearly 200 million, are deeply familiar with the 1979 Iranian Revolution and its historic impact.
