The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) issued a weather warning for Saturday weather, indicating continued hot and humid conditions, with active winds carrying sand and dust in some areas and high waves along some coasts.
The weather will be slightly hot and humid during the morning hours, becoming very hot and humid during the day across most of the country, while hot and humid along the northern coasts, with slightly hot conditions at night.
Dust-laden winds
Satellites have also detected intermittent wind activity with speeds ranging between 30 and 40 kilometers per hour, bringing cooler temperatures in open areas.
However, these winds may stir up sand and dust in parts of southern Upper Egypt, the New Valley, and areas of the Red Sea Governorate, which necessitates wearing face masks for those with respiratory conditions.
The EMA announced wind activity on beaches including Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, Gamasa, Damietta, Port Said and Arish, leading to waves between 1.5 and 2.25 meters high.
These will also see weak chances of low cloud formation that may be accompanied by light and insignificant drizzle on scattered areas of the north of the country, Greater Cairo and Suez Canal cities.
Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 36C in Greater Cairo, 32C along the northwestern coast, 38C in northern Upper Egypt, and up to 41C in southern Upper Egypt.
The EMA urged the public to follow weather forecasts and take necessary precautions, especially during the early morning hours and on highways.
