Egyptian activists on Tuesday complained of what they described as Arab TV channels' ignorance of current protests witnessed in their own country.
Activists in particular criticized the Qatari Al Jazeera channel, which they said ignored Egyptian protests, as compared to its coverage of the uprising in Tunisia and other countries.
They accused the channel's bureau in Cairo of succumbing to security directives not to broadcast any material related to the protests
"The reason for this neglect is Arab rulers' fear that Egypt's revolt might succeed, as success means they will all be forced to leave," some activists said.
"If Al Jazeera's coverage does not indicate the importance of the events, it will lose its credibility forever," said one protester.
Al Jazeera has aired a few clips about the protests, which were however not as extensive as its coverage of the Tunisian uprising.
